Persistent Misunderstanding

The Facts:  Data from Clinical Trials of the COVID vaccines revealed NO new safety concerns and the subsequent vaccination of hundreds of millions of people around the world supports that view.  As with any medical procedure, there are some risks, but they are substantially less than risks from the virus.

By now, I'm sure that most people around the world know that the courts apparently "forced" Pfizer to release some 80,000 pages of documents.  The anti-vaxx community insists that these are incriminating and show evidence of massive harm, and so on.

And, of course, those claims have circulated widely on "social" media.

Part of the "concern" is contained in pages of what some try to call "side effects", or "adverse events".

The truth, as usual, lies elsewhere.

This article explains the deceptive confusion quite well (photo credit goes to this article).

One paragraph in particular is notable:

"Another piece of information that isn’t even remotely accurate but is making its way to your Facebook feed, nonetheless, is the claim that on page 30 of the “Adverse Events of Special Interest” – or “AESI” – appendix, is a list of the hundreds of thousands of side effects recorded from the Pfizer vaccine. It’s not. In fact, AESI’s are actually developed before a treatment is even given. It is a list of possible events to be on the lookout for and alerted to ASAP if they occur. This goes to show us just how incredibly cautious Health Canada is when it comes to approving a treatment for Canadians. Come on, do you really think the same people that recall bagged salad across the entire country for a possible contaminant are going to somehow overlook the risk of a treatment that has over 158 thousand side effects? We think not."

So, that list of hundreds of "side effects?  Those are actually conditions that were established prior to testing the vaccines that they were to watch for specifically.  Not things that HAD happened, but things that they were supposed to watch for IN CASE they happened.

The article goes on to say:

"Instead of getting ‘freaked out’ by the list of things that both the Pfizer pharmaceutical company, and Health Canada are watching out for, we encourage you to focus on the “Discussion” section of that same document, which reads: “The data does not reveal any novel safety concerns or risks requiring label changes and it supports a favorable risk profile.”"

Just another example of what happens when too many YouTube PhDs bring their lack of knowledge and their desire to deceive into something they don't want to understand.
